Australian Children's Laureate

Go to website
"Much-loved children's authors Alison Lester and Boori Monty Pryor are
Australia's first Children's Laureates! Both are talented and award-winning
storytellers who bring a wealth of experience and creativity to the position -
Alison as a renowned author and illustrator, and Boori as a celebrated author,
performer, dancer and poet.

As the Children's Laureates for 2012 and 2013, Alison and Boori will act as
national and international ambassadors for Australian children's literature and
will separately visit every state and territory inspiring young people to tell
their own stories and be part of an active literary culture for enjoyment,
wellbeing and success in life.

This prestigious national honour is the culmination of the work by the
Australian Children's Literature Alliance (ACLA) to promote the transformational
power of reading, creativity and story in the lives of young Australians.

A new outstanding Australian author or illustrator of children's literature will
be appointed as a Laureate in January 2014."

Easter fun

Wishing you a safe and happy Easter from INFOZONE. Here are some interactive online links for you to enjoy.  We have rolled out your bookmarks for Stage 1, 2 and 3.  You will see a QR Code in the blue and red on your bookmark.  Go to the App store and download a QR reader app.  I recommend Qrafter Pro as this works well with Codes covered in contact.  If there is too much light shining on your bookmark, the code cannot be read due to the glare. ENJOY!!!

Record yourself

You can record yourself here at InfoZone, Don't worry, no-one else can hear you, and it cannot be saved on InfoZone. You might be getting ready for that big Debate, or providing a reflection of a book you have just read. Maybe you just want to hear how your voice sounds to other people whilst talking, or singing your favourite lyrics.  Have some fun with this recorder, because at the end of your recording, you can save it to somewhere personal.

John Heffernan - Author

Picture Captions
[Caption.iT - Face in Hole] Hi, I’m John Heffernan. I live on a farm at the end of a dirt road. The farm nestles in a beautiful little valley at the edge of the Great Dividing Range. From the top paddocks you really can see forever on a clear day, or absolutely nowhere when the fog swirls around you. Visit my website @ http://www.spudplus.com/wp/ to find out more!
